The blade and hilt are attached together using two clamp like feature at the base called the baca-baca.

Long and very sturdy blade with 5 luks or waves and very well executed base features or perabots having a single fuller at the middle. The mid-section has finely chiseled circular motifs which is said to represent the centipedes and is also a status symbol.

Pamor patterns are not contrasting and shows forging of the mlumah technique of the kulit semangka or water melon skin pamor.

This keris won the 3rd prize during the recent keris competition in February 2024 in conjunction with the Heirloom Rejuvenation Ceremony.

Length of blade: 20.5"
Overall length: 27"

Age: Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers’ name. Although a kris smith or “empu” has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the late 19th century.
